Volunteers are the movements backbone. To maintain Wikipedia as a reliable and up-to-date resource, encouraging new people to edit is vital in all language communities. Numerous ideas are around, many have been tried. The poster will show the New Editors Campaigns 2016 and 2017 of Wikimedia Deutschland. What have we done? Which learnings can we share? What information do Newbies need to start smoothly? Are videos, guided tours and helping texts useful? With the poster we like to share our experiences but also discuss other ideas to gain new editors with the attendees.

What will attendees take away from this poster?

Attendees will learn about Wikimedia Deutschland's ideas, actions and campaigns on the question “How to attract New Editors for Wikipedia” in 2016 and 2017.
