Abstract (up to 300 words to describe your proposal)

Wikimedia Israel developed various tools for different types of audience to encourage them to edit on Wikipedia either on their own or through writing projects at their educational institutes. The obvious way to present Wikipedia to new audience is to let a Wikipedian train the new editors. However, this method is extremely limiting due to two factors: (1) We do not have many Wikipedians who can, or wishes to, volunteer (2) Wikipedians have developed their own jargon and methods of work that are not always clear to the average person who wishes to chime in. We therefore had to develop a method of teaching that explains Wikipedia to the non-Wikipedian. We had a lot of success, especially with teachers and students and we wish to share it.

What will attendees take away from this session? Hopefully they will learn new methods to engage more people in Wikipedia editing, especially educators and students.
