Abstract (up to 300 words to describe your proposal)
Having contributors from many different countries and languages is a huge opportunity to improve the quality of Wikidata. One of the great strengths of Wikidata is its native multilingual structure.
LEVEL 1
The basic idea of a translathon is to make participants add labels and descriptions on Wikidata elements in their own language(s). Very simple editing skills are required to start editing Wikidata. For beginners it could be a useful first experience with Wikidata.
LEVEL 2
More interesting is to make people exchange to solve certain difficult cases (for examples concepts which are a bit different depending of the language). It was the idea of the Wikidata Babel workshop in Wikimania 2015. It worked well but needed several improvements in the methodology which could take place in this new session.
LEVEL 3
Wikidata lacks a conceptual tree. Even if single items are well-precised, the tree of P279 and P31 is very frequently poor or non present. Elaborating conceptual trees of good quality is uneasy when you're alone. Joining the forces of Wikidata experts from different cultures could help that ! (at least, Wikimania is the perfect place for testing that).

Please, help translating this in your language(s). Thank you! :)
What will attendees take away from this session?

LEVEL 1 : better knowledge of Wikidata and how it works, motivation to discover this fabulous project (and reach level 2 next year).

LEVEL 2 : new Wikidata friends from very far away, better understanding of concepts viewed from other cultures, motivation to contribute with people speaking other languages (and reach level 3).

LEVEL 3 : better understanding of the Wikidata trees, maybe questions like WHATS THE WORLD ? WHO AM I IN THAT ? ;) and of course motivation !
